Smart Transmitter for Online Monitoring of Reciprocating Compressor Performance

9/8/99 -- Windrock, Inc., a Knoxville, TN, based company announced today that is has released its newest product for online monitoring of reciprocating machinery.

The patent pending Model 3300 C-Guard system is a "smart" transmitter which continuously monitors the performance and mechanical condition of a plant’s critical reciprocating machinery. Each seven channel transmitter accepts inputs from two pressure sensors, two temperature inputs, one or two speed/phase pickups and up to two auxiliary voltage, current or discrete inputs. An internal processor continuously calculates IHP, Rod Load, % Rod Reversal, % Load and volumetric efficiencies. All inputs are monitored in "real time" and compared against alarm levels. Remote alarm indication is optional.

The C-Guard system, which is rated for hazardous environments, also offers an optional controller for large plant-wide systems. The controller, which will take inputs from up to 255 transmitters, provides an interface to the plant network and/or diagnostic workstations.

A wide variety of reports and graphs are generated with the C-Guard Windows 95/95/NT compatible diagnostic software program. Used in conjunction with the controller and Ethernet, detailed information about the machine’s performance and mechanical condition can be generated with the software.
