ON-GUARD™/DA SOFTWARE

The On-Guard™/DA software runs on a Windows PC and is used to program the setup into the HP-Guard, E-Guard, C-Guard, V-Guard, or P-Guard boards. The On-Guard™/DA can also run continuously to provide a PC view of the data being calculated by the modules. The On-Guard™/DA software is not necessary for the X-Guard series boards to function.

SET UP :

Setup requires the use of On-Guard™/DA software running on a Windows PC. A serial port equipped with an RS-232 to RS-485 converter such as a B&B 485SD9R is needed. The 2-wire RS-485 is connected to the COMM (J1) connector of the HP-Guard.

Once the information is entered, it is stored in non-volatile memory. Then the system begins to scan and calculate horsepower. The connection to a computer to the Test Comm is not required, but any time a computer is connected to this connector, the horsepower and diagnostic information is available.

Once the HP-Guard is configured, the configuration is stored in non-volatile memory on-board and the unit runs with or without the On-Guard™/DA software. Data is available on the comm port of the MODBUS port.

The MODBUS interface may be scanned at any rate and does not interfere with performance of the acquisition system. If the user’s DCS is measuring suction and discharge temperatures, then the temperatures can be sent to HP-Guard via MODBUS. The temperatures must be in degrees F.

VIEWING DATA WITH ON-GUARD™

This is the main viewing screen of On-Guard™/DA. A user can view the data being collected by either the E-Guard or the HP-Guard boards. In the example above, the HP-Guard view is seen. In E-Guard, there are two views of the data; a spreadsheet view as shown above and a graphical view as shown below.
