6300 General Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

Why can't I show angular velocity?

Answer:

The 6300 requires more than one event per revolution to calculate angular velocity. The time between pulses is measured and plotted as a function of crank angle. Check for the following:

There must be more than one event per revolution being sent to the 6300. For example a magnetic pickup on gear teeth or shaft encoder must be used.
The machine configuration must have the pulses per revolution set to greater that one. This number must match the number of events being measured.

Question:

Where do I find the Interlnk.exe file in Windows 95?

Answer:

Windows 95 does not install with the INTERLNK.EXE program file. It is contained on the original CD ROM for Windows 95 under the directory \OTHER\OLDMSDOS\INTERLNK.EXE. You may install this in the way specified in the users manual.

Question:

Why can't I run the 6300 operating code on my PC, only the menus seem to work?

Answer:

The DOS path statement must include C:\EVCODE in order for the software to operate correctly. This is located in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file in the root directory. This is also true for users of Windows 95. You may also need to increase the amount of available DOS ram memory. This is the memory below the 640K boundary.
